For the 14th consecutive year, the Kitsap Public Facilities District (KPFD) will make funds available through the KPFD EventFund to support Kitsap County-based organizations that want to host
and market local and regional sports tournaments and special events at KPFD qualified venues.
The KPFD accepts applications and makes fund awards from the
KPFD EventFund two-times per year, in January and in June.
Awards range from $500 to $5,000. Fund award decisions are competitive.

timeline
The purpose of the KPFD EventFund is twofold:
1) To stimulate economic activity by
providing funding to promote
and market events that attract out-of-county participants, families and tournament enthusiasts to Kitsap County.
2) To provide family-centered entertainment and healthy recreational opportunities for Kitsap County residents.
To receive funding, events requesting funds must be held at one of the three public facilities developed with KPFD-managed funds
and contain the outline of
the efforts to promote
and market the
event. Those facilities are:
• the Kitsap Conference Center at Bremerton Harborside
• Kitsap Fairgrounds & Events Center and
• facilities within the North Kitsap Regional Event Center boundaries in Poulsbo.

Babe Ruth
2012 World Series in
Kitsap was a great
success!
On May 18th 2011, the
contract was signed
between the North Kitsap
Babe Ruth organization
and the Babe Ruth
League, Inc. for the
2012 13-year old World
Series to be held here
in Kitsap County. The
week-long World Series
was played at Loeb Field complex at
the Kitsap Fairgrounds
and Event Center,
ball fields improved over
the years to tournament
level quality facilities
with both PFD and County
funds.
This was the kind of
event and its
corresponding economic
impact, estimated to be
approaching $1
million, that the use of
public funding for
building or improving
recreation and sports
facilities was supposed
to achieve.
The local chambers
cooperated to provide a
packet of special offers
and discounts to
encourage the visitors
to use local
businesses.
We are proud of the
Kitsap County Parks Dept
for keeping Field 1 in
great tournament quality
shape and are proud of
the North Kitsap Babe
Ruth for following
through with their
application and winning
the 2012 World Series
for Kitsap.
More info here.
The event was live
streamed online, the
weather was great and
the field was in great
shape - I hope
Kitsap County was
displayed for all to
see!
